The Street/Park Unit is one of five units within the Community Building Administration and is responsible for managing the municipality's streets, roads, traffic facilities, lighting, parks, playgrounds, and other public spaces within Mullsjö Municipality. The unit is also responsible for parking supervision, leases, land leases, as well as applications for traffic organization plans and excavation permits. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the maintenance and management of the municipality's forest resources. We who work within the Street/Park Unit are a dedicated team working to create safe, accessible, and sustainable public environments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work together with your colleagues to maintain and care for the municipality's streets and green areas, which means you will be working with all types of green space maintenance and street work. The position includes, in consultation with colleagues and supervisors, developing, implementing, and reporting maintenance plans for the municipality's urban and park forests. You will also have ongoing contact with forest managers and contractors.
The work involves the use of tool carriers, lawn mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, tractors with forest trailers, and more.
During the winter, you will be part of the unit's snow preparedness team, where you will be called out to clear snow from pedestrian and cycling paths at night, in the evenings, and on weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has at least completed and passed a high school education in natural resources with a focus on forestry or construction and civil engineering. Alternatively, another education combined with experience that we collectively assess as equivalent.

You enjoy working goal-oriented and see a pursuit of improvements as a natural and obvious part of your work. You like to be outdoors in all weather conditions. We place great importance on your personal qualities, which are essential for fitting into the group. We are looking for someone who is open, solution-oriented, and cooperative.
We also believe that you are goal-oriented, initiative-taking, and responsible, as well as confident in yourself and comfortable representing the municipality to citizens and businesses.
It is a requirement that you have:
- A completed and approved high school education in natural resources with a focus on forestry, construction, and civil engineering, or another education combined with experience that we collectively assess as equivalent.
- A valid driver's license with at least B-category for manual transmission.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Chainsaw training.
- Experience working with chainsaws and forestry.
- Training in APV (work on roads).
- Experience handling and driving tractors in terrain, garden machinery, tool carriers, and brush cutters.
- Training for e.g., work from platforms, forklift and lift certificates, and fall protection.
